TECHNICAL
SUPPORT:
OPERATING SYSTEM INSTALLATION
To install Operating System Win 9x,Win 2000, Win XP, You should have original Operating System
disk, Switch on the computer, put the original genuine Operating CD in the CD
Drive and restart the system. System will boot from the CD and start
installation according to the instruction shown in the screen.
INSTALLATION OF ONBOARD DEVICE DRIVERS
(PC400 and PC133)

After the installation of Operating System, insert your system
board CD (which you got along with the system) in CD ROM drive.
-
You will get a screen on your desktop, click on setup and
follow the instruction for all onboard drivers (VGA, SOUND, MODEM AND LAN).
System will restart after each device installed.

If you have any other device like DVD/CD Writer, install the
software which you got along with the system (Nero/ Prassi/ B's Gold/ Easy CD
creator for CD Writer and Power DVD/Win DVD for DVD Player).

Check device manager and confirm all your drivers are
installed properly.
(Start-Settings-Control Panels-System-Device Manager for Win
95,98,and Me)
(Start-Settings-Control Panels-System-Hard Ware-Device Manager for Win 2000 and
XP)

If any other device except onboard device, use the appropriate
driver for that.
INTERNET CONFIGURATION FOR WIN 9x
AND ME
-
Click on Start-Programs-Accessories-Communication-Dialup
Networking.
-
Click on make new connection, Click on next, give phone number
of your ISP (4004444), Change country to U.A.E and click on finish. you will
get icon of my connection in dial up Networking Window.

Right click on my connection and click properties-networking
option-TCP/IP Settings-set server assigned IP address by default.
Specify the name server address
Primary DNS: - 194.170.1.7
Secondary DNS: - 194.170.1.99 and click on OK

You can make short cut of my connection by
right click on my connection and select create short cut and close dialup
window.

After configuring of dial up connection, Click on
start-settings-control panel-internet options-connections-make always dial my
default connection.
Click on settings and click on use proxy server and type address as below
Address:- proxy1.emirates.net.ae
Port :- 8080
Click on OK and close control panel.

Double click on my connection which you created on desktop.

Put your user name and password of etisalat and click on dial. After dialing
you can start surfing by clicking on Internet Explorer.
INTERNET CONFIGURATION FOR WINDOWS 2000
-
Click on Start-Settings-Network and Dialup Connections
-
Double click on make new connection and give next, choose
dialup to the Internet, you will get Internet connection wizard screen.

In that select third option and give next. Choose I connect
through a phone line and modem and next, edit Area code, Telephone no and
country. Clear the use area code and dialing rules box.

Click on advance option-Address-IP address as default and
choose DNS Server address as always use the following.
Primary DNS Server : - 194.170.1.7
Alternate DNS Server: - 194.170.1.99

Give OK and next. Enter your user name and Password and click next. You will
get Dialup name, give next.

Next screen is Outlook Express mail account setup, Choose No (You can configure
Outlook mail later) give next and finish.

To set the proxy settings of Internet Explorer follow the step 5 of Internet
configuration of Win 9x and ME.
INTERNET CONFIGURATION FOR WINDOWS XP
-
Click on
Start-Programs-Accessories-Communications-Network Connecting
-
Create new connection-next-connect to the internet-next-setup my connection
manually-connect using dial up modem-enter ISP name-type phone number
(4004444)-next-enter your user name and password-next-click on add a short to
this connection to my desktop-click finish.

You will get connection icon, click on properties-networking-properties of
internet protocol (TCP/IP). In that click on use the following DNS Server
address.
Proffered DNS Server : -194.170.1.7
Alternative DNS Server: -194.170.1.99
Give OK and dial the Internet
